EnkaseTM packaging barrier technology

What is Barrier Packaging?

Barrier packaging prevents ingredient permeation, protects the environment and preserves the quality of the product ensuring regulatory compliance.

Enkase™ provides barrier protection against permeation for polyolefin containers, ensuring the quality, safety and compliance of customer’s products, while maintaining recyclability.

How Enkase Works

Enkase - How Enkase Works

Many factors contribute to the design of barrier packaging, including formulation ingredients, shelf life, packaging material and much more.

Enkase seals plastic packaging with the option of three levels of barrier performance -L3, L5 and L9-, which is determined by the formulation of the product. Enkase leads to longer storage life, greater ability to reduce container weight and higher performance for more challenging components and formulations in a wide variety of industries.

Whether it’s a 1 ml or 1,000+ liter container, we are proud to offer the most versatile and adaptable recyclable barrier solution to meet or exceed global packaging standards.

Sustainability with Enkase

For more than 40 years, we have been helping achieve a more sustainable future with our recyclable barrier packaging technology, Enkase.

Life cycle assessments of Enkase compared to other commercially available barrier packaging technologies, demonstrate it has 27% less global warming potential and 22% less fossil fuel consumption.

Approved by the largest recycling associations around the world, Enkase maintains the recyclability of HDPE, making it recyclable in any existing HDPE stream and collection system with no additional set up required.
